TCC Notifications

Push notifications for gate changes, boarding countdowns (T-30/15/5 min), delay detection (15+ min), and cancellations.

Overview

TCC sends push notifications at the moments that matter most on travel day. You don't need to stare at the app — MileIntel pings you when something changes or when it's time to act.

Notification Types

Gate Change

Fires when the airline reassigns your departure gate. The notification includes both the old and new gate numbers, plus the terminal if it changed. These are time-critical — a terminal change at a large airport can mean a 20-minute walk.

Boarding Countdown

A series of three notifications as boarding approaches:

  • T-30 minutes — "Boarding starts in 30 minutes at Gate B12." A heads-up to start wrapping up at the lounge or restaurant.
  • T-15 minutes — "Boarding in 15 minutes." Time to be at or near your gate.
  • T-5 minutes — "Boarding in 5 minutes at Gate B12." Final call to be at the gate.

Boarding times are calculated from the airline's published boarding time, not departure time. If the airline updates the boarding time (due to delay), the countdowns adjust automatically.

Delay Detection

Triggers when your flight is delayed by 15 minutes or more. The notification shows the new departure time and the delay duration. If the delay increases later, you get an updated notification — but MileIntel uses cooldown logic to avoid spamming you with every 5-minute increment.

Cancellation

Immediate notification if your flight is cancelled. This one bypasses quiet hours and cooldown rules — you need to know right away. The notification includes a direct link to the Disruption tab for rebooking options and airline contacts.

Notification Delivery

TCC notifications are sent via:

  • Push — browser push notifications (desktop) and PWA push (mobile)
  • Email — for delay and cancellation alerts, if push isn't available

Notifications respect your global quiet hours setting, with the exception of cancellations which always come through.

Key Details

  • Boarding countdown requires an accurate boarding time from the airline — if the airline doesn't publish one, MileIntel estimates from the departure time
  • Cooldown between delay notifications: 15 minutes minimum, to prevent notification fatigue during evolving delays
  • TCC notifications are tagged with flight-specific identifiers so they group properly on your device
  • All notification types are available on every plan

Tips

  1. Enable push notifications for MileIntel in your browser or phone settings. TCC notifications only work if push is allowed.
  2. The T-30 notification is your cue to leave the lounge. Don't wait for T-5 if your gate is more than a few minutes' walk away.
