TCC Activation

When the Travel Command Center activates automatically, how to access it manually, and what triggers each activation window.

Overview

The Travel Command Center doesn't require you to turn it on. It activates automatically based on your flight timing and stays active through landing. You can also access it manually at any time for trips that are booked but not yet in the activation window.

Automatic Activation

TCC activates when your trip enters the Check-in Open lifecycle stage — typically 24 hours before departure (varies by airline: some open 48 hours out, Southwest opens 24 hours, international flights may open earlier).

Once activated, TCC stays on through:

  • Check-in window
  • Departure day at the airport
  • In-flight
  • Until arrival at your destination

After landing and arrival, TCC transitions to a post-arrival state where the Destination tab remains useful for ground transport and local info, but flight-specific features (gate navigation, lounge recommendations) wind down.

Manual Access

You don't have to wait for automatic activation. For any Booked trip, you can open the TCC view manually:

  1. Open the trip detail panel.
  2. Click the TCC button (the radar icon) in the trip header.
  3. The full TCC interface opens with all six tabs.

Manual access is useful for pre-trip planning — checking lounge options, reviewing terminal maps, or looking at destination context days before you fly.

Multi-Leg Activation

For multi-city and connecting flights, TCC activates independently for each segment. When you land at your connection city, TCC shifts to the next leg automatically. The Navigate tab defaults to showing the route from your arrival gate to your next departure gate.

Key Details

  • Activation is driven by flight data, not a timer — if the airline changes your departure time, the activation window shifts accordingly
  • TCC works without a confirmation code (generic flight data only), but lounge access filtering and gate-specific features require a PNR
  • On mobile, a TCC notification appears when activation occurs, with a direct link
  • TCC does not activate for trips in Searching stage (no flight data to work with)

Tips

  1. Access TCC manually the day before your flight to familiarize yourself with the terminal layout and lounge options. Don't wait for automatic activation.
  2. For connecting flights, check TCC for the connection segment before you board the first leg. You'll land knowing exactly where to go.
