Lounge Recommendations

Alliance-aware lounge filtering based on your ticket, elite status, and credit cards. Access rules, amenities, and hours for every option.

Overview

The Lounge tab shows every lounge you can access at your departure airport — filtered intelligently based on your specific ticket, elite status, alliance membership, and credit card portfolio. No more Googling "can I get into the Polaris Lounge with a Star Alliance Gold card?" MileIntel already knows.

How Filtering Works

MileIntel cross-references three things to determine your access:

  1. Your ticket — Airline, cabin class, and fare type. A business class ticket on United gets you into United Club and Star Alliance partner lounges. An economy ticket doesn't (unless other factors apply).
  2. Your elite status — Star Alliance Gold, SkyTeam Elite Plus, oneworld Emerald/Sapphire — each unlocks partner lounges across the alliance. MileIntel knows which status levels grant lounge access and where.
  3. Your credit cards — Amex Platinum (Centurion Lounges), Chase Sapphire Reserve (Priority Pass), Capital One Venture X (Plaza Premium), and others. MileIntel maps your cards to their lounge network access.

The result: a filtered list ranked by proximity to your gate, with clear access-reason tags ("Star Alliance Gold," "Amex Platinum," "Business Class Ticket").

Lounge Details

Each lounge card shows:

  • Name and location — terminal, near which gate, walking time from your gate
  • Hours — opening and closing times for today
  • Access method — why you can get in (with specifics)
  • Amenities — showers, Wi-Fi, hot food, bar, sleeping pods, spa
  • Crowding — estimated crowding level when data is available
  • Guest policy — whether you can bring a guest and any associated fees

Key Details

  • Lounge data covers 1,000+ lounges at 500+ airports worldwide
  • Alliance-aware filtering handles complex cases: flying Delta but crediting to Virgin Atlantic, or using a partner lounge on a codeshare
  • If no lounges are accessible, MileIntel suggests day-pass options with pricing
  • Lounge access rules are updated regularly as airlines and credit cards change their policies

Tips

  1. Check the Lounge tab before you leave for the airport. If a great lounge is in a different terminal, you might want to arrive early enough to visit.
  2. If you have Priority Pass, note that some lounges restrict access during peak hours. MileIntel flags these restrictions when known.
