Layover Planner

Make the most of long layovers with curated activities, transport options, and time-feasibility filtering for 15+ airports.

Overview

The Layover Planner turns dead time between flights into something useful. For 15+ major airports, it suggests activities, restaurants, lounges, and city excursions — filtered by how much time you actually have.

How It Works

When MileIntel detects a connection longer than 2 hours, the Layover Planner activates on your trip. It looks at your layover duration, the airport, and your preferences to generate a list of things you can realistically do. Every suggestion includes estimated time required, transport details, and a feasibility score.

What's Covered

  • In-airport activities — lounges (with your access mapped), restaurants, spas, sleeping pods, museums, observation decks.
  • City excursions — for layovers of 5+ hours with a feasible route to and from the airport. Transport options (train, taxi, rideshare) with estimated costs and times.
  • Terminal tips — best spots to work, charge devices, or grab a quiet corner.

Supported Airports

Coverage includes major hubs: JFK, LAX, ORD, ATL, SFO, DFW, DEN, MIA, SEA, LHR, NRT, ICN, SIN, DXB, HKG, and more. Each airport has curated, verified suggestions — not generic web scrapes.

Key Details

  • Navigator: top 5 airports. Executive and Black: all 15+ airports.
  • Suggestions update based on time of day and day of week.

Tips

  1. For international connections, check entry requirements first — some city excursions need a transit visa.
  2. Build in buffer. The planner accounts for transit time, but clearing security again always takes longer than you think.
