Configure Travel Preferences
Set your preferred cabin class, favorite airlines, timezone, and notification settings to personalize your MileIntel experience.
Overview
Travel preferences shape how MileIntel searches, recommends, and alerts you. Setting these up front means every search result, agent finding, and TCC recommendation is already tuned to how you actually travel. You can always change them later — nothing is locked in.
Steps
- Go to Settings from the sidebar (gear icon).
- Open the Travel Preferences tab.
- Configure each section as described below.
- Changes save automatically as you make them.
Preference Sections
Preferred Cabin Class
Choose your default search cabin: Economy, Premium Economy, Business, or First. This sets the baseline for award searches and price monitoring. You can always override it per trip.
Favorite Airlines
Select the airlines you fly most or have status with. MileIntel prioritizes these in search results and factors in your status benefits (upgrade priority, lounge access, baggage) when making recommendations.
Timezone
Set your local timezone so that notification timing, flight countdowns, and check-in reminders land at the right moment. MileIntel auto-detects this from your browser, but you can override it if needed.
Notification Preferences
Control what MileIntel notifies you about and how:
- Price drops — alerts when a monitored fare decreases
- Upgrade availability — cabin openings on your booked flights
- Flight status — delays, gate changes, cancellations
- Agent findings — insights from background AI analysis
For each category, toggle email, push, or both.
Dietary Preferences
Set dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, gluten-free, etc.) so the TCC dining recommendations at airports filter and rank restaurants accordingly.
Key Details
- Everything is optional. MileIntel works without any preferences set — it just works better with them.
- Per-trip overrides exist. Your preferences are defaults. When creating or editing a trip, you can set different cabin classes or airline preferences for that specific trip.
- Favorite airlines affect ranking, not filtering. You'll still see flights on other airlines — your favorites just get prioritized in results.
Tips
- If you have elite status on an airline, make sure it's in your favorites. MileIntel uses your status tier to predict upgrade likelihood and lounge eligibility.
- Set your dietary preferences before your next trip — TCC dining recommendations are significantly more useful when they know what you eat.
