Set Up Push Notifications

Enable browser and mobile push notifications for real-time flight alerts, price drops, gate changes, and boarding reminders.

Overview

Push notifications are how MileIntel reaches you in real time — gate changes, boarding countdowns, price drops, delay alerts. Without push enabled, you'll still get email notifications, but push is faster and harder to miss. Especially useful when you're already at the airport.

Steps (Desktop Browser)

  1. Go to Settings from the sidebar (gear icon).
  2. Open the Notifications tab.
  3. Click Enable Push Notifications.
  4. Your browser asks for permission — click Allow.
  5. Done. You'll now receive push notifications for flight alerts and agent findings based on your notification preferences.

Steps (Mobile — PWA)

Push notifications on mobile require installing MileIntel as a Progressive Web App first:

  1. Open MileIntel in your phone's browser (Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android).
  2. iOS: Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. Android: Tap the three-dot menu, then Add to Home Screen or Install App.
  3. Open MileIntel from your home screen — it now runs as a standalone app.
  4. Go to Settings > Notifications > Enable Push and allow the permission when prompted.

What You'll Get Notified About

  • Gate changes — your gate moved from B12 to C8, you need to know now
  • Boarding countdown — reminders at T-30, T-15, and T-5 minutes before boarding
  • Delays — flight delayed 15+ minutes, with updated departure time
  • Cancellations — immediate alert with rebooking options (Executive+ plans)
  • Price drops — a fare you're monitoring just got cheaper
  • Upgrade availability — business or first class opened up on your flight
  • Agent findings — your background AI agents found something worth your attention

Key Details

  • Granular control. In Settings > Notifications, you can toggle each notification type independently. Want gate changes but not price drops? Done.
  • Quiet hours. Set a do-not-disturb window (e.g., 11 PM to 7 AM) and push notifications will hold until morning. Flight disruption alerts override quiet hours.
  • Browser support. Push works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari 16.4+. Check your browser version if the Enable button doesn't appear.

Tips

  1. On mobile, push notifications only work after you install MileIntel as a PWA. The in-browser version can't send push notifications on iOS.

Troubleshooting

Issue: "Enable Push" button doesn't appear. Fix: Your browser may not support push notifications, or you may have previously blocked them for mileintel.com. Check your browser's site settings and reset notification permissions.Issue: Notifications aren't arriving. Fix: On macOS, make sure notifications are enabled for your browser in System Settings > Notifications. On mobile, check that MileIntel (the PWA) has notification permission in your device settings.
