Accept a Family Invitation

Someone invited you to their MileIntel household — here's what happens when you accept and what you'll be sharing.

Overview

When a family group owner or admin invites you, you'll receive an email and an in-app notification. Accepting takes one click, but here's what you should know before you do.

How to Accept

  1. Open the invitation email and click Accept Invitation, or tap the notification in MileIntel.
  2. If you don't have a MileIntel account yet, you'll be prompted to create one first (it's free).
  3. Review what you'll be sharing — the acceptance screen shows which data becomes visible to the group.
  4. Click Join Group.

You're in. The household Wallet and shared trips appear immediately.

What You're Sharing

By default, joining a group shares:

  • Your loyalty program balances (program names and point totals).
  • Trips you mark as "family" or "shared."
  • Your home airport and cabin preferences (for Best Path calculations).

You are NOT sharing by default:

  • Personal trips (only trips you explicitly share).
  • Credit card details.
  • Expense data.
  • Email or calendar content.

You can adjust sharing granularity in Settings > Family & Groups > Privacy after joining.

Key Details

  • You can leave a group at any time from Settings > Family & Groups > Leave Group.
  • Leaving removes your data from the household view immediately.
  • You can only be in one family group at a time.

Tips

  1. After joining, visit Wallet > Household to see the combined family portfolio. You might discover transfer opportunities you didn't know existed.
