Notification Preferences
Choose which alert types you receive and on which channels. Customize your notification mix to match how you travel.
Overview
Notification preferences let you fine-tune what MileIntel tells you about and how. Instead of an all-or-nothing switch, you control each alert type independently — choosing the channel and frequency that matches your needs.
How Preferences Work
Go to Settings > Notifications to see a grid of alert types and channels. For each type, toggle whether it's on or off, and select which channel(s) deliver it:
- Flight updates — Gate changes, delays, cancellations, boarding reminders.
- Price drops — Fare decreases on watched routes or booked flights.
- Upgrade availability — Cabin openings on monitored flights.
- Loyalty alerts — Expiring miles, status milestone approaching, balance changes.
- Deal matches — AI-surfaced deals that match your travel patterns.
- Trip reminders — Check-in windows, document reminders, itinerary updates.
- System updates — New features, maintenance windows, account security.
Per-Type Channel Selection
You can mix channels per alert type. Common setups:
- Push for flight updates (instant), email for price drops (less urgent).
- SMS for cancellations only, push for everything else.
- Email for loyalty alerts and weekly digests, push off for those.
Key Details
- Default preferences are set when you create your account — push and email on, SMS off.
- Changes take effect immediately.
- You can reset to defaults anytime from the preferences page.
Tips
- Turn off system updates if they're cluttering your notifications. The important ones still come through.
- Review preferences before a trip. You might want tighter alerts when you're actually traveling versus planning.
