Upgrade Monitor
Watch your booked flights for cabin upgrade availability. MileIntel polls airlines and alerts you the moment a seat opens up.
Overview
The Upgrade Monitor watches your booked flights for cabin upgrade openings. When a business or first class seat becomes available — whether through miles, cash, or instrument — you get an alert so you can grab it before it disappears.
How Polling Works
Once you activate a monitor on a flight, MileIntel checks availability at regular intervals. The polling frequency depends on how close your departure is: flights more than 7 days out are checked every 12 hours; within 7 days, every 4 hours; within 48 hours, every hour. This keeps checks efficient while catching last-minute releases.
What Gets Tracked
- Award availability — seats bookable with miles on your airline or alliance partners
- Paid upgrade offers — airline-initiated upgrade offers at a cash price
- Instrument eligibility — whether your upgrade certificates, systemwide upgrades, or regional instruments apply to the flight
Setting Up a Monitor
Open any booked trip, go to the flight detail, and tap Watch for Upgrades. Choose which cabin you're targeting (business, first, or either) and your preferred notification channel. That's it — MileIntel handles the rest.
Key Details
- Navigator: 2 active monitors. Executive: 10. Black: unlimited.
- Monitors auto-deactivate after your flight departs.
- You'll see a history of every check and what was found.
Tips
- Set monitors early. Airlines release premium inventory unpredictably — the sooner you're watching, the better your odds.
- Target connecting flights too, not just the long-haul leg.
