Haptic Feedback
MileIntel uses subtle vibrations on mobile to confirm actions — here's what triggers haptics and how to turn them off.
Overview
Haptic feedback gives you a physical confirmation when you interact with MileIntel on your phone. A quick vibration when you complete an action, a subtle pulse when you pull to refresh — small touches that make the app feel responsive.
Actions That Trigger Haptics
- Pull to refresh — a light tap when the refresh threshold is reached.
- Tab switch — a subtle click when you tap a bottom tab.
- Trip card actions — a medium pulse when you long-press a trip card for quick actions.
- Swipe actions — feedback when you swipe to archive or delete.
- Form submission — a confirmation vibration when you save settings, create a trip, or submit a search.
- Notifications — a distinct pattern when a push notification arrives while the app is open.
- Toggle switches — a click when you flip a toggle in Settings.
How to Disable
If haptics aren't your thing:
- Go to Settings > Appearance.
- Toggle Haptic Feedback to off.
- All vibrations from MileIntel stop immediately.
This only affects MileIntel. Your phone's system haptics are controlled separately in your device settings.
Key Details
- Haptic feedback uses the Web Vibration API. It works on most Android devices and iPhones with a Taptic Engine (iPhone 7 and later).
- Haptics are disabled automatically if your phone is in silent/vibrate-off mode.
- The intensity adapts to the action — navigation taps are lighter, confirmations are stronger.
Tips
- Keep haptics on for at least a week before deciding. Most users find them useful once they're used to the feedback patterns.
