Calendar Write-Back
Let MileIntel automatically create Google Calendar events for your upcoming flights, hotels, and layovers.
Overview
Calendar write-back pushes your MileIntel trips to Google Calendar automatically. When you book a flight or create a trip, the corresponding events appear on your calendar without you doing anything.
How to Enable
- Go to Settings > Calendar.
- Toggle Calendar Write-Back to on.
- Choose which calendar to write to (if you have multiple). Most people pick their primary calendar.
- Save.
You need to have Google Calendar connected with write permissions. If you originally connected with read-only access, you'll be prompted to re-authorize.
What Gets Created
- Flight events — one event per flight leg with departure and arrival times, airline, flight number, terminal, and confirmation code in the description.
- Hotel events — multi-day events spanning check-in to check-out.
- Layover events — short blocks between connecting flights showing the airport and connection time.
Events are created with the prefix "MileIntel:" so they're easy to identify and filter.
Key Details
- Write-back events update automatically if your flight time changes or you modify the trip in MileIntel.
- Deleting a trip in MileIntel also removes its write-back events from your calendar.
- If you delete a write-back event from Google Calendar directly, MileIntel won't recreate it (it tracks which events it has pushed).
- This feature requires Navigator tier or above.
Tips
- Create a dedicated "Travel" calendar in Google and point write-back there. That way you can toggle travel visibility on and off without cluttering your main calendar.
