Calendar Events

Flights, hotels, and activities appear as structured events in your calendar — color-coded and linked to your trips.

Overview

When MileIntel detects a travel event from your Gmail or Google Calendar, it parses the details and creates a structured calendar event. These aren't just text blocks — they're rich objects with flight numbers, terminals, confirmation codes, and links back to your trip.

Event Types

  • Flights. Shows airline, flight number, departure/arrival times, terminals, and seat class. Color-coded by airline (Delta = blue, United = navy, American = red, etc.).
  • Hotels. Check-in and check-out dates, property name, and confirmation number. Displayed as multi-day blocks.
  • Activities. Tours, car rentals, restaurant reservations, and other bookable events parsed from confirmation emails.
  • Layovers. When you have a connection, MileIntel inserts a layover block between legs showing the airport, duration, and terminal change info.

How Detection Works

MileIntel scans two sources:

  1. Gmail — Booking confirmations from airlines, hotels, and travel agencies. The parser recognizes formats from 50+ providers.
  2. Google Calendar — Events with flight numbers, airport codes, or hotel names in the title or description.

Events from both sources are deduplicated. If Gmail and Calendar both have the same flight, you'll see one clean event, not two.

Tips

  1. If an event is miscategorized (a restaurant reservation showing as a hotel), click the event and correct the type. MileIntel learns from your corrections.
