Gmail Sync for Balances
How MileIntel reads your loyalty emails to keep balances updated automatically — no manual entry required.
Overview
Manually updating point balances is tedious. Gmail Sync reads your loyalty program emails — earning confirmations, statements, and activity summaries — and extracts balance updates automatically. You stay current without lifting a finger.
Steps
- Go to Settings > Connected Accounts and tap Connect Gmail.
- Sign in with the Google account that receives your loyalty program emails.
- Grant MileIntel read-only access. We only scan for loyalty-related emails — nothing else is read or stored.
- Once connected, MileIntel scans recent emails to establish your current balances. This initial scan takes 1-2 minutes.
- Going forward, new loyalty emails are processed within minutes of arrival.
How It Works
MileIntel uses pattern matching to identify emails from supported loyalty programs. When it finds a balance update, earning confirmation, or account statement, it extracts the relevant number and updates your asset card. The system recognizes emails from 50+ programs including all major airlines, hotels, and credit card issuers.
Key Details
- Gmail Sync is read-only — MileIntel cannot send emails, delete messages, or access non-loyalty content.
- If you have multiple Gmail accounts, you can connect each one separately.
- Sync runs continuously. New emails are typically processed within 5 minutes.
- You can disconnect Gmail anytime from Settings without losing your current balances.
Tips
- Make sure loyalty program emails aren't going to spam — Gmail Sync can't read your spam folder.
- If a balance looks wrong after sync, check that the matched email was actually a balance update and not a promotional "you could earn X points" message. You can override any synced value manually.
