Trip Loyalty Impact
See how each trip affects your loyalty status: miles earned, status credits, and progress toward elite tiers.
Overview
The Loyalty tab breaks down what each trip earns you in the programs that matter. Miles, qualifying dollars, segment credits, tier points — however your airline counts progress, MileIntel calculates it and shows you the impact on your status trajectory.
What You See
Redeemable miles earned — the award miles credited to your account from this flight. Calculated from distance, fare class, and your elite status multiplier.Status-qualifying metrics — the credits that count toward elite tier advancement. Depending on the airline, this could be:- Premier Qualifying Points/Miles/Dollars (United)
- Medallion Qualifying Miles/Segments/Dollars (Delta)
- Loyalty Points (American)
- Tier Points (British Airways)
Crediting to the Right Program
MileIntel defaults to crediting miles to the operating airline's program, but you can change this. In the Loyalty tab, select which frequent flyer program to credit the flight to. MileIntel recalculates earned miles based on the partner earning chart.
This is particularly useful for alliance flights where crediting to a different program earns more.
Key Details
- Loyalty calculations use published earning charts for each airline and fare class
- Estimates may differ slightly from actual credits due to airline-specific rounding
- For completed trips, you can mark flights as "credited" once the miles actually post to your account
- Multi-leg trips sum loyalty earnings across all segments
Tips
- Before booking, check whether crediting to a partner program earns more. On some routes, crediting a Star Alliance flight to Singapore Airlines earns 50% more than crediting to United.
- Use this data alongside the Status Tracker (premium feature) to see if you're on pace for requalification.
